SIBUR – Fertilizers announces acquisition of Angarsk Azotno-Tukovy Plant SIBUR-Fertilizers announces acquisition of Angarsk Azotno-Tukovy Plant (Nitrogen & Solid Fertilizer Plant), Irkutsk city, Western Siberia, Russia. This acquisition confirms Company’s leadership in the industrial and agricultural customers market of Russia’s Siberia and Far East.
“Through this transaction SIBUR–Fertilizers prove its dominant marketing position in the industrial customers segment of ammonium nitrate market, represented by Russia’s biggest ore mining enterprises, almost all located in Western Siberia. The acquisition also creates additional opportunities to serve the needs of agricultural clients in the region with more excellence. Industrial clients secure constant all-year-long effective demand. In this region there are only two plants with ammonium nitrate production operations: Kemerovo “Azot” and Angarsk Azotno-Tukovy Plant, both of them now owned by the company”, - said Andrey Teterkin, Chief Executive, SIBUR – Fertilizers.
SIBUR – Fertilizers is the key ammonium nitrate supplier in Russia’s Siberia and the Far East. In 2007 company’s share in total ammonium nitrate sales in the region exceeded 75%. This acquisition will also add porous ammonium nitrate to the company’s product portfolio and will boost its production capacity to over 1,2 million tones of ammonium nitrate per year.
